Ålsgårde, Denmark
Hej!
We are a Danish-German family of four - two daughters (26 and 23), living on the coast North of Copenhagen, close to Helsingør and Hornbæk in a lovely thatched roof house with a big garden, overlooking the sea. Both our daughters have moved out, but they may just join us for your visit!
We have been living abroad in Belgium and the US and enjoy showing guests a glimpse of ”our” Denmark.
Consider combining your visit with us with a visit of Louisiana or the beautiful town of Helsingør with Kronborg Castle and the Maritime Museum designed by Bjarke Ingels.
We work in Copenhagen, so weekends are best for us - but just try to contact us, and we see what we can arrange. Always a possibiliy that we meet in Copenhagen and accompany you to our home from there.
We are looking forward to meet you!
Danish, German, English, some French, a tiny bit of Italian
Living between Helsingør and Hornbæk, overlooking the sea. We live close to Helsingør, can easily be reached by public transport, but will also be flexible to pick you up at the station of Helsingør, Espergærde (a station on the Copenhagen-Helsingør stretch of the train line "Kystbanen") or Humlebæk (site of the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art; likewise on the train line "Kystbanen"). On weekdays we can take you along from Copenhagen.

For the first travel in Denmark, our parents organised a surprise for family : dîner with Danish people, Christine and Mads. The couple has prepared a wonderful home made diner with wines and cheeses.
The road between Copenhague and Alsgarde is very nice and funny.
Thank you very much to Christine and Mads for your hospitality in your lovely house.
We were most fortunate to be hosted by Christine and Mads at their beautiful home in the Alsgarde area, just north of Helsingor. Their property overlooks the sound between Denmark and Sweden and we were able to watch the majestic ships pass by as we sipped on a cocktail; very memorable. You could not find more gracious and generous hosts anywhere. The food and drink was incredible; Christine is a very gifted cook and Mads is a wonderful host. Highly recommended.
Our group of 6 from New York had dinner with Christine, Mads and family. We thought the concept sounded fun and decided to book it not knowing how it would truly turn out. In the end it was a major highlight of our trip! They were fun and interesting to talk with, provided a great meal and were very hospitable to us. We would do this again in a second! Thank you for an awesome evening!
I experienced a awesome friendly evening with Mads, Christine and their 2 daughters!!! They were so welcoming and cooked me delicious traditional danish food!
Thanks for the great conversations and the many laughs!!!
Hope to meet them again !!!
(Why can't I put 6 stars?!?!) ;-)
