We are a Danish couple, Torben and Bibi, in our mid-forties. Apart from working (we really enjoy what we are doing and appreciate our daily day), we also like travelling and meeting people, getting new inspiration, new ideas, new perspectives. We think of "Meet the Danes" as a way of travelling, just a little bit, in a way that can be integrated in our daily lives.
And, surely, there is also an ideological statement in our participation: We think that Denmark, the Danish people, has a lot more to offer than the petty, narrow-minded and xenophobe politics on display in both national and international medias.
Danish, English, Portuguese, Swedish, some Spanish, French and German
Bispebjerg Bakke is a show case of modern Danish architecture. Nørrebro is traditionally a workers' neighborhood, but today it is a lively mix of shawarma and green grocers at Little Istanbul (around the train station of Nørrebro) and the hip gastronomic center, Torvehallerne (at Israels Plads). We live next to Lersø Park, just in front of the old Bispebjerg hospital, not far from Denmark's largest church, Grundtvigs Kirke.
